Manufacturers can monitor this process with visible-light cameras, but the enormous variety of adhesive materials and lighting conditions present challenges. A thermal imager or an IR temperature sensor can help users easily determine whether the glue bead has been applied properly, has gaps, and is within the required temperature limits.

When looking to address crime, the community found themselves lacking surveillance capabilities. As a result, government officials saw a critical need to deploy a wide-spread, situational awareness system. Familiar with the Urban Area Security Initiative Homeland Security District in Boston and FLIR Systems’ instrumental role, the city of Lawrence was interested in what FLIR could offer.

Teledyne FLIR Defense Awarded $43.9 Million Contract to Service US Navy and Coast Guard Sensor Systems
Effort Will Maintain Land- and Sea-Based Imaging Systems used for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Builds on Recent Awards Worth $16.2 Million for Other System Upgrades WILSONVILLE, OR, Feb. 8, 2022 ― Teledyne FLIR Defense, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), announced that the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded the company an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract worth up to $43.9 million to service electro-optical sensor systems used for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). The contract will provide replacement parts and technical support for several land- and sea-based systems used by the United States Navy and Coast Guard, including the BRITE® Star II, the Sea Star SAFIRE® III, and the Star SAFIRE® 380-HD.

Bush fires have become a common phenomenon during Australia’s summer season. Usually, these fires destroy many acres of valuable land and they have a devastating impact on wildlife. Firefighters often risk their lives to stop fires from spreading. Luckily, these disasters also lead to worldwide acts of solidarity and support. As a provider of lifesaving technologies for first responders, Teledyne FLIR recently donated 100 FLIR K1 situational awareness thermal cameras to volunteer fire departments in need of the technology.

Partners with Precision Technic Defence Group to Provide Land, Maritime and Airborne Imaging Solutions and Support for Danish Mobile Sensor Systems Program; Contract Value Expected to Top $100 Million BOSTON, January 24, 2022 ― Teledyne FLIR Defense, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), together with its Denmark-based partner Precision Technic Defence Group, announced that they have signed a seven-year framework agreement with the Danish Defense Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) to provide a variety of medium- and long-range surveillance systems for land, maritime and airborne applications. DALO also has awarded the companies a service and maintenance contract.

FLIR Wins U.S. Army Heavyweight Robot Contract Worth Up to $109M
ARLINGTON, Va., December 4, 2019 ― FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced that its Kobra™ robot has been chosen for the United States (U.S.) Army’s Common Robotic System-Heavy (CRS-H) program. The five-year production contract to build upwards of 350 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) is worth up to $109 million.
