Search and rescue, fire suppression, and overhaul efforts have become more efficient and successful largely in part to having more thermal imaging cameras (TICs) in more hands. As these tools become better and more cost-effective, recognizing the need for tactical thermal imaging starts with understanding the challenges that firefighters face inside burning structures.

UAS Radiometric Temperature Measurements

FLIR Systems Awarded US Coast Guard Contract with Value of $9.9M to Support Encrypted Automatic Identification Systems
WILSONVILLE, Ore., October 16, 2018 – FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in support of the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) Second Generation Automatic Identification System (AIS-2) program. The indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a ceiling value of $9.9 million to provide second generation Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders, associated peripherals, and spare parts for nearly 1,774 boats and 282 cutters in the USCG’s active fleet.

(NASDAQ: FLIR) today announced the DroneSense–FLIR Edition, a drone flight management software platform designed for public safety applications. FLIR announced a strategic investment in DroneSense, an Austin, Texas-based unmanned aircraft system (UAS) software platform maker, in April 2018 and this is the first product under that collaboration. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today it has received an award from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) in support of the Multi-Phase Chemical Agent Detector (MPCAD) program. The Other Transaction Authority Agreement (OTA) is valued at $28.7 million, with execution extending through mid-2022.

(NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today it has been awarded the first option phase on a five-year, cost-plus fixed fee contract by the United States Department of Defense’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). This option totals $1.2 million for continued development of the FLIR Agentase C2 chemical agent disclosure spray (ADS) for detection of nerve agents and a new formulation for fentanyl detection.
